Below is a notice required to all rideshare drivers by the new MN Statute:
MN STATUTE COMPENSATION NOTICE TO RIDESHARE DRIVERS
In compliance with Minnesota Statutes, we are required to advise you of certain provisions of the law concerning rideshare driver compensation.
Effective December 1, 2024, the minimum compensation that a rideshare driver must be paid is $1.28 per mile and $0.31 per minute for any transportation of a rideshare rider.
If a trip request is cancelled by a rider or rideshare company after the driver has already departed to pick up a rider, 80% of any cancellation fee paid by the rider must be paid to the rideshare driver.
At minimum, rideshare drivers must be paid $5.00 for transportation of rideshare rides.
Rideshare companies must pay drivers the compensation earned within 14 days of the ride being completed. The minimum compensation payable pursuant to Minnesota law guarantees a driver a certain level of compensation that cannot be reduced and must be reconciled by rideshare company staff to ensure minimum compensation is paid to its drivers.
Any gratuities paid by a rider are the property of rideshare drivers and must be paid on the regularly scheduled payout schedule.
The rideshare companies are required to provide you with a 48-hour notice of any changes to their Driver Compensation Policy.
As part of this agreement, you agree to Binding Arbitration as set forth in the Platform Access Agreement. If you wish to opt out of Binding Arbitration, please provide written notice to us at drivers@myweels.com indicating your desire to opt out.
Rideshare drivers have the right to elect coverage of paid family medical benefits leave as provided in Minnesota Statute 268B.
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has exclusive enforcement authority of rideshare driver compensation disputes.
